The NSLPB is watching the COVID 19 developments with keen interest and will act in the best interests of all participants and event staff. We have messaged with the Chief Medical Officer to get a determination on if we should move our date and will message to all as soon as possible.

2020 Guest Speaker

The Honourable Dr. Mayann Francis

Join us on April 28, 2020 at the Cunard Centre to hear a story of faith, family and vision. When Dr. Mayann Francis was named Nova Scotia’s first Black lieutenant-governor, she wondered if the community would accept her. Francis was born just three months after businesswoman Viola Desmond was arrested for sitting in a whites-only section of a movie theatre in New Glasgow. Had enough changed?

Leadership Prayer Breakfast Purpose

To provide a safe place to be inspired to pray for our leaders and consider the love and relevance of Jesus.

The Nova Scotia Leadership Prayer Breakfast has, for 38 years, invited people who find themselves in leadership positions to come together for a time of prayer for our province, its communities and its people. These breakfasts have drawn together people from many walks of life – business, the professions, the military, education, government, to name a few. There are similar prayer breakfasts in Ottawa, Washington and many other locations.

It has also been a time of inspiration, in that top-flight speakers have shared messages which have provided great insights and encouragement to those in attendance. In addition, excellent musicians have presented uplifting selections which were themselves often like prayers. People of various faith backgrounds and traditions have attended over the years. The intention is to be very welcoming to all!

Thank you,
